I work in devotion to the language of the Old World Masters, seeking not to imitate their hands but to inherit their discipline. My practice is built on the belief that craftsmanship is a form of reverence — that every stroke, every glaze, every measured breath before touching the canvas is an act of respect for the centuries of painters who shaped our visual heritage.

Light is my first subject. Like Rembrandt, I treat it as a living force, capable of revealing truth or concealing mystery. I build my surfaces slowly, through layers of translucent color, allowing the painting to emerge the way Titian allowed his figures to rise from the depths of glaze. In this process, time becomes a collaborator; patience becomes a tool.

I study form as the masters did — not as an object, but as a presence. Michelangelo believed the figure already existed within the stone; I believe the image already exists within the canvas. My role is to uncover it with humility and precision.

Though my techniques are rooted in the past, my intention is not nostalgia. The masters painted the world as they knew it; I paint the world as I feel it. Their methods give me structure, but my voice gives the work breath. Through classical technique, I seek to express contemporary emotion — the quiet tension of modern life, the fragility of identity, the persistence of beauty.

In honoring the old, I aim to create something new: work that stands with one foot in history and the other in the present, bridging centuries through the enduring power of craft.
